Quotes That I Love

*This is not the usual stuff I post*, but I guess this is good enough since I rarely post nowadays, so here is my collection of the lines I fell in love with while reading these books. "Break my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like. It was only ever yours to break anyway."   - Kiera Cass, The Selection                        “You’ve changed me forever. And I’ll never forget you.”   - Kiera Cass, The Elite                                                                                                 “And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone.” — Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles “I'll fight it. I'll fight it ...

#6 Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of The Universe

I don't know if you have ever felt completely alone or just uncomfortable in your own skin, and if you have, this book is for you my friend. The book with the extremely long name is actually worth the hype (the hype which I am creating here). It is about two boys who are different, different in the sense that they are not like others around them, especially Aristotle who I feel is a lot like me, but is lacking the sense of humor I possess (just kidding guys, my humor is BAD). Now, these boys are in (spoiler alert) LOVE (Don't worry guys, the cover gives it all away). So the book basically evolves around these boys and their story of how they understood the secrets of the Universe and also their feelings for each other. Personally, I feel that it is a great read, intense and slow at the same time (non - readers, don't ask how is that possible). This book is a sort of coming of age novel for people like me who can't relate to the actual ones. Do read it guys, it might dis...

Guess Who's back!

Hello People, long time no see! (I know I am at fault here, but hey! cut me some slack, I am busy now). Anyways, this is just a post to assure you that I am back (hopefully) with new book recommendations, boring perspectives and yes! the next chapter of my book 'The Truth' (It was fun leaving you guys in suspense). This post might as well be a reminder for me to start paying more attention to this blog of mine since it is the ESSENCE of my childhood and it literally ENCAPSULATES the aspirations and dreams of a a thirteen year old, who might just be me (growing up has made me cringey enough to realize this stuff). Okay, enough of self burns, I should add one more thing before I disappear for another 6 months (just kidding guys, don't hate me) and that is, when life gives you lemons go make lemonade out of it (this might be the only sensible thing I ever write on this blog, this is because I feel like my loyal readers might need this motivation in life). Anyways, farewell fo...

The Truth ( Chapter 2)

The person was none other than her archnemesis, Robin Dilallo, who happened to be one of the most famous personalities in the New York city. You see, the thing is that Karen was in the pursuit of  this criminal in disguise for a case five years ago, but due to the lack of enough evidence, she could not get him arrested. His case has been a black mark on Karen's professional history, and she detested him for it. Robin was well acquainted with the fact that Karen knew about his true identity, which made him keep a safe distance from her for the last few years. However, being the criminal mastermind he was, occasionally he would taunt Karen about her failure in his own ways, which included making random appearances here and there which could trigger her. But today was different, today was the day when the two rivals had come face to face again after five years.  " Good evening, Miss Roberts " said Robin with a cruel smile on his face. " Oh hello Mr. Dilallo, how very p...

The truth

The cafe was almost empty. Karen looked at her watch desperately, it was almost midnight, ugh! she had been waiting for almost four hours in this damned cafe! She looked at her wary waiter and without saying anything, he went inside to get her her sixth or maybe seventh cup of coffee. Karen Roberts was a well - known detective in her city and was known for solving almost all her cases within her given time limits. She was now waiting in the cafe for a person who claimed to have vital information of her next assigned case which was by far the most difficult one she had worked on. Most people would have thought her for a fool to have agreed to meet an unknown source, but, she prided herself for working on her guts, and she felt that she ought to meet this one person. Finally, a hooded figure appeared infront of her table and she knew that this was it. She half expected the person to remove his hood but he just stood there and glared daggers through the openings of his hood. "good e...

#5 The Kid

I just can't stop thinking about this book. It's one of those books that leaves a deep impression on you of what life really is, painful for some, happy for some but life, none the less!! Ah, If you are going through a rough patch, I totally recommend this book. If you have seen the movie 'Pursuit of Happyness' (And yes I am not dumb, go ask the director why he spelled happiness wrong), then you can frame an idea about this book, and if you could not then I won't tell you ( Just kidding ;)). This book is about the struggles of a poor boy named Kevin whose parents were literally maniacs ( LITERALLY!!!). Think of the worst thing that could have happened to someone and that is nothing compared to what this boy suffered. This book is so inspiring you will ooze with inspiration, and one thing I can assure you is that as soon as you are done reading this book you'll be thankful for the smallest thing you have. And you'll be shocked when you hear the next line. *T...

#4 One of us is lying

THIS BOOK IS GREAT! It has everything you will want in a good Y/A book, want suspense? CHECK, want drama? CHECK, want betrayal? ( A BIG AND FAT) CHECK. Seriously, it is hard to find books like these nowadays ( and you have to believe me on that one ). Anyways, it is basically about four kids who are suspected of murder of their detention mate ( is that a thing?). Now these kids should normally have been distant since anyone of them could be a murderer. BUT NO, they feel for each other and in turn become good friends (typical). Now they are in a big mess, if anyone of them is guilty, it is hard to find out (even for the four themselves!). It is actually more difficult for them since they are friends and, you know, I'll be frank, if my new friend who looks sweet outside turns out to be a maniac murderer, well it would be a bummer ( a nightmare really). As for the writing, the book uses multiperspectivity to show the points of view of all four suspected students. Overall it is a good...
