#1 The Book Thief
Well, what can I say about this book, it is so dayum thrilling, interesting and entrancing that I do not have enough words to describe it. It is about a girl named Liesel (YES it is pronounced similar to diesel)and her life in Nazi Germany during World War II (NO, she is not a jew though the story does involve jews). This book begins when Liesel is on the train to her new foster parents home with her brother and mother (She has a mother, suprising right!) Her brother suddenly dies on the spot (a perfect beginning!) and Liesel (as you expected) is shocked. Her foster parents (as you were NOT expecting) loved her. In fact, her foster father treated her better than a real father does. This girl Liesel, just loved books though she did not know how to read (Go figure). Her love for books made her take drastic measures to steal books from her foster mom's wealthy but weird customer (who happens to be the wife of the mayor). This is the reason why the book came to be known as The Book Thief which was not obvious without my mentioning. The best thing about this book is that it is narrated by death and is pretty cool on his aspect.
